VENICILE VYAPARI - SYNOPSIS

Venicile Vyapari - Synopsis

Shafi-Mammmotty-James Albert team is titled 'Venicile Vyapari'.It has nothing to do with William Shakespeare's famous play 'The Merchant of Venice'.But in this film Mammootty will play a trader based on Alappuzha which is called 'Venice of the East'.
This is Shafi's Fourth Mammootty Film after Thommanum Makkalum,Mayavi and Chattambinadu. This is the fourth Film of James Albert after Classmates,Cycle and Ividam Swargamanu. Also This is the First Film of James albert with Shafi and Mammootty.
The Film will be an interesting one since it unites one of the best Commercial Film Directors of Malayalam with one of the Best Writers in Malayalam.
The story revolves around a murder mystery happened in 1980s. Pavithran (Mammootty) was once a police constable. He lost his parents in his childhood. He enters police force by chance as it is not his ambition. So he resigns this job and starts coir business at Alapuzha. Ammu (Kavya) is the leader of the coir workers. Pavithran loves Ammu, but does not reveal his love. Tamil and Telugu film actress Poonam Bajwa is also doing an important role in this film. She is reprising the role of Lakshmi, a bank manager.

Malayalam movie Vilkanundu
Swapnangal by K.S
Sethumadhavan in which his
performance was noticed by
the colossal writer in
Malayalam cinema M T
Vasudevan Nair, who cast
him in yet unfinished film
Devalokam.
Mammootty's mentor K.G.
George made him a bankable
superstar. K.G George �s films
like Yavanika and Valarthu
Mrigangal made him
noticeable.
His career saw a spectacular
rise after the release of
Joshi �s New Delhi. It
heralded the arrival of super
star Mammootty.
In 90�s Mammootty became a
regular face in Adoor
Gopalakrishnan films. He

His Oru CBI Diary Kurippu
was a landmark. His
representation of a Tamil
Brahmin CBI officer stays in
everyone �s mind. A fifth film
with the same character is
set to be made immediately
which is a record of sorts in
the Malayalam film industry,
movies with the same lead
character a la James Bond.
He proved a success in Tamil
with Mani Ratnam �s Dalapati
and continued to shine in
Tamil films. His maiden Hindi
film is Thriyathri released in
1989. As hero Dhartiputra
went unnoticed. His national
presence was felt with
Jabbar Patel�s Dr Baba
Saheb Ambedkar. He bagged
the coveted Rajat Kamal for
best acting.
Earlier he was considered
not good for comedy scenes
and dancing. With his talent
streaming in right direction
he is now the best man to do
comedy. In the dancing front
he still has to improve as he
still shakes the head even
he only need to shake a
finger.

It also marks the debut of actress Shreya Saran in Malayalam industry. Pokkiri Raja in one word can be categorized as a mass masala entertainer. The film begins twenty years prior to the present time and the situation prompts Raja (Mammootty) to go in prison and then to Madurai five years later. He becomes a successful Goonda and grows in power and wealth. Fifteen years passed by, Raja takes a kottation to kill a man named Surya in Kerala, but later recognizes that it was his own blood brother. The first part of the film has importance to Prithviraj until the Mega star arrives. The punch dialogues in post interval session have made the audience go crazy with their love for the star. Prithviraj as Mammootty's brother attracts the audience with his punching fists, dancing legs and comedy oriented dialogues. With this film he proved to be next only to the Big M's (in which ever order you place the 'M'). Shreya's debut into Malayalam as Prithviraj's heroine adds Oooooommps. The film doesn't have a single dull moment and will be enjoyable for family audience. Salim Kumar as novelist Manoharan Mangolodayam and Suraj Venjarammoodu as Police officer work hand in hand to add fun to the scenes. Udayakrishna â€“ Sibi K. Thomas proved yet another time that they remain unchallenged in the field since they know, what the movie going audience need. Visuals are beautifully enhanced from Shaji's camera. New editor Mahesh Narayanan is fast paced. Changes shown in the growth of actors' appearance through the years are not good. Music by Jessie Gift is fresh and moves every hip.
